aim

The aim was to design and create a 4m bronze sculpture to stand outside Capital House in Chester.

CONCEPT

The sculpture looks at individual achievement within a corporate environment, the large figure confronting itself as though looking in a mirror, setting a personal challenge. The figure is given height and form through a supporting column resembling a metronome, which is also suggestive of measurement and time.

Originally commissioned by Capital Bank and unveiled in 1993, it is now part of the Lloyds banking group.
