AIM

A sculpture to recognise the contribution of organ donors and the gift of life given. A piece which touches a spectrum of remarkable people and connects us all.

CONCEPT

Two granite standing stones are connected by a third stone, as though one is giving to another, carved in one granite you will see a figure sleeping and the other granite you will see a figure waking, in one granite you will see the sun and the other the moon, so one is night and the other day, one is sleeping and one is waking. The artwork is carved with poem by the acclaimed local poet Adele V Robinson

UNVEILING

A very moving and significant unveiling for the families at Victoria Hospital - with such remarkable stories about organ donation and the life changing gift from one person to another. The granite piece acting as a touch stone for these conversations, and a thanksgiving for life.

The granite sculpture is very tactile and we hope people get up close to touch and interact with the form and carved details. Keeping the conversation going about organ donation, and starting new ones.

MODEL MAKING

The initial concept models for Blackpool hospital to recognise the contribution of organ donors. The carved stones convey the idea of an exchange.
