NAME : The Apprentice Medal, The Master Craftsman, The Journeyman DATE : 1997 CLIENT : Capital Bank LOCATION : Chester
To create a unique integration of artwork and architecture weaves throughout Capital Banks Training Centre in Chester incorporating glass, stainless steel, bronze and stone features.
The design expresses the idea of a journey, beginning with the ‘Apprentice’, symbolised at the entrance by a laser cut stainless steel and glass suspended artwork, past the welcoming floor medal, to the flying ‘Journeymen’, suspended high above in the foyer. The journey theme continues within a flooring design, and also in the atrium’s colourful and dramatic Epiphany stained glass louvres. The journey concludes with two large bronze castings on the front facade of the building entitled the ‘Master Craftsmen’
The Training Centre opened in 1997.
